This week the inquiry is into how teachers can model digital age work and learning. This ISTE standard states that "teachers exhibit knowledge, skills and work processes representative of an innovative professional in a global and digital society". It includes the following sub skills:
- demonstrate fluency in technology systems and transfer current knowledge to new technologies and situations
- collaborate with students, peers, parents, and community members using digital tools and resources to support student success and innovation
- communicate relevant information and ideas effectively to students, parents, and peers using a variety of digital age media and formats
- model and facilitate effective use of current and emerging digital tools to locate, analyze, evaluate, and use information resources to support research and learning
This week the investigations explores the ISTE standards for teachers and students, the SAMR and TPACK models for integrating technology into teaching and learning, and how to apply the inquiry process into a teaching/learning event. The application of concept mapping tools (Mindomo, Cacoo) can help you model your own digital age work and learning.
